Welcome to Picha Biennale of African Photography, where you explore contemporary photography from around the continent. Picha proudly presents 54 country pavilions, each housing the works of a celebrated national photographer. These photographers change the way we see the world, awakening us to new perspectives, ideas, and values by conveying their stories, provoking thoughts, and stirring emotions. But that's not all – on the exterior of the pavilions, we celebrate emerging talent, forming a survey of the continent’s most recent developments in African photography.

For too long, Africa has been defined through Western eyes, resulting in one-dimensional representations. Picha Biennale brings African photographs by African people.
